Charm City Cleanup
The Charm City Cleanup Initiative is Baltimore's most ambitious citywide cleaning initiative in decades, focused on cleaning public spaces and supporting resident's sense of pride and ownership in Baltimore's neighborhoods.
Launched originally in July 2025, this annual coordinated effort combines proactive government services, community engagement, and cross-agency collaboration.
To continue in Charm City's Culture of Clean, every single neighborhood in Baltimore will be visited by the city agency and partner cleanup crews to address resident service requests and proactively clean neighborhoods. Neighbors will be encouraged to report issues to 311, volunteer for cleaning events across the city, and coordinate cleanups in their own neighborhoods.

What Baltimore City agencies and partners are involved in the Charm City Cleanup?
We're bringing city agencies, stakeholders, and partners together to get the job done:
Department of Public Works (DPW)
Will be out sweeping streets, clearing storm drains, cleaning up graffiti, and getting ahead of rodent issues.
Department of Transportation (DOT)
Will patch potholes, clear sidewalks, and mow our medians.
Baltimore City Recreation & Parks (BCRP)
Will clean our tree pits, and care for our green spaces.
Clean Corps
Will be working in their forty-two communities and will tackle alleys, streets, sidewalks, and vacant lots, all while working alongside you, our Baltimore residents.
Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD)
Will conduct property maintenance inspections and investigate illegal dumping.
Mayor's Office of Community Affairs (MOCA)
Will communicate with communities, engage volunteers, and provide educational resources.

Our Streets, Our Neighborhoods, Our Baltimore
Volunteer for Local Events or organize your own!
We welcome local non-profits, neighborhood organizations, and residents like you to support local initiatives in our communities. There will be opportunities to join a volunteer cleanup in a neighborhood served by the Charm City Cleanup that day. Participants will be paired with the event coordinators in the community they choose.

Be sure to give a contact name, email address, and phone number for your request, along with a date, location, and expected number of volunteers.
About Clean Corps
A community focused initiative founded by Mayor Brandon M. Scott
Clean Corps is a multi-agency initiative, led by the Baltimore City Department of Planning and operated in close collaboration with Baltimore-based nonprofits: Civic Works and Bon Secours Community Works. Funded primarily by the American Rescue Plan (ARPA), Clean Corps works in partnership with community organizations to hire residents to maintain and clean public spaces within 42 communities.

As the Charm City Cleanup initiative moves through the month of July, this space will transform into a live, interactive dashboard tracking every pothole patched, alley cleaned, and graffiti in real-time. We will also bring you posts of the work so you can follow our progress!
